Evan Zee is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles. His sound, like his musical upbringing, represents the modern convergence of folk, jazz, blues, and pop.

Zee grew up in Auburn, a Northern Californian foothill town, where his natural musical interest began as an eager violin student at age 7. By his teens, he swapped the violin for a guitar and began performing throughout the Sacramento region, making a name for himself locally as a venerable young  guitarist and songwriter. In 2014, he sojourned south to begin his graduate degree at the Studio/Jazz Guitar Department at the University of Southern California. In early 2017 he released his first EP, Something Heavenly, with singer/songwriter Danny Donnelly at the producer’s helm. In 2018, Zee and producer, Ryan Stewart, began working on his second work, Story. The four song EP marks Zee’s emergence as a unique voice in the singer-songwriter landscape, and is bolstered by LA’s top musicians such as Aaron Sterling (John Mayer, Harry Styles), Tyler Chester (Blake Mills, Sara Watkins), Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (Thundercat, Anderson .Paak), and Madison Cunningham. Zee’s lyrical introspection and acoustic intimacy bears an obvious connection to James Taylor, while his ample use of open-tunings and nuanced rhythmic strumming patterns allude to ample time listening to Laurel Canyon’s queen, Joni Mitchell. This Americana texture is polished by a modern production, clearly containing it within the ilk of the likes of John Mayer and Kacey Musgraves.
